07/08/2010 - Bristol, CT (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former linebacker Antonio Pierce has decided to retire and will become an NFL analyst for ESPN.

Pierce spent the past five seasons with the New York Giants and played his first four years with the Washington Redskins. He was released by the Giants in February after an injury cut short his 2009 season.

The veteran appeared in only nine games last year because of a bulging disc in his neck and posted 55 tackles with one sack. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2006 with the Giants and helped New York win Super Bowl XLII after the 2007 season.

Over 124 career games, Pierce compiled 692 tackles with 8 1/2 sacks and seven interceptions.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
